> thanks. any reasoning? It's supposed to be an AMPAkine and increased AMPA thoroughput is supposed to be how ketamine may work...I think ketamine is actually an NMDA receptor antagonist. However, I know that NMDA neurons interact with the AMPA or kainate receptor neurons. I guess that would explain the observation. In any event, doing so would help prevent excitotoxicity of glutamatergic neurons.
