Hi, Whitmore-
I thought the only anti-convulsant used in psychia w/ much hair-loss potential is Depakote. But, I don't read much about drugs I'm not considering.
I had some hair loss on Depakote, but taking Selen/Zinc did stop it. (both can cause nausea)
(Depakote provided a lot of relief coming out of an intense state, but not much help w/ depression, so switched to Lamictal w/ lithium.)
At the time, the relief w/ Depakote was so great that I would have shaved my head & substituted tattoos for hair rather than give up the med.In my experience, depression, the kind that stops one from eating much, can cause rapid weight loss & thus, hair loss. I lost much more hair from that than from Depakote.
By the way, what is BDD?
RE Insomnia: The meds are not working well enough?
Have you ever consulted w/ a sleep doctor? I went to one who seems skeptical, serious & thus, legit to me. Amongst other things, he prescribed my using light therapy (blue light) in the morning. -one other possibility
