agomelatine issue

Posted by clipper40 on August 30, 2009, at 3:26:39

I've been wanting to try this but I'm hesitating because of the warning not to take it if you have any autoimmune conditions. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is autoimmune but it's fairly easily treated so if agomelatine made the condition worse, then I'd just take more thyroxine. What concerns me though is the possibility that it might lead to another more serious autoimmune disorder since I'm obviously susceptible.

I'm really agonizing over this because I think it would be a great medication for me for several reasons (depression, insomnia, sleep cycle disturbances, SSRI apathy etc.). Anyone have any advice to give me on this?
