>Valium has multiple metabolites, its actually has quite a long half life (Klonopin in some people can have as little as 16 hours), its main metabolite is very long, and its other two metabolites are temazepam (Restoril) and oxazepam (Serax).
It is a potent substance. But it has its use in high anxiety disorders as much as Klonopin does. Personally (when I could actually 'feel' benzodiazepines), Valium had a much greater 'zing' to it than Klonopin which was more subtle to me.
As they say, your miles may vary.
As for your reaction to Neurontin, I can't predict -- I do know that according to a lot of people Lyrica is much stronger (hence its lowest abuse/addiction classification C-V -- its a controlled substance) than Neurontin. If you are one of the rather few people who respond to BuSpar, you might try that.
