My neurologist also says he much prefers l-dopa to dopamine agonists because - at low-to-moderate doses and in the absence of Parkinson's - l-dopa has far fewer side effects.

Mild nausea is most common with l-dopa, compared to sleep attacks, hypersexuality etc that can be caused by dopamine agonists.
