Never had dexedrine but did have vyvanse 50 mg. Each molecule of d-amphetamine is attached to a molecule of lysine. This means it is inactive until it is in the stomach and the lysine is digested. This liberates the d-amphetamine to be used by the body. So the release at least for me was slower than adderall-xr. So I just felt that alert stimulant feeling and some mood elevation without the euphoria feeling. I felt it was a smooth drug.
However like any amphetamine I am very prone to tolerance and the drug stopped working. Rather than keep upping the dose I stopped the med. But for those who don't have rapid tolerance problems it is worth trying. The d-amphetamine had a strong dopamine feeling where other stimulants have more of a norepinephrine feeling. More interested in listening to music and other pleasurable activites than let's say raking the yard.
