In reply to Starting 80mg parnate- how long for results?, posted by inanimate peanut on December 24, 2009, at 13:04:18
Usualy when u titrate parnate up,about 3 days youll expect to notice a differance. However unfortnaly with parnate and getting past a sticking point theres this issue,i find u can pre determine a dose, now im not saying u just go crazy and take more and more, however parnate high dose is a tricky task,u want to achieve remission and of course stay safe,id personaly titrate my dose every 4 days stronly evaluting my mood at those stages including, due i feel different,do i notice and ill effects, and so on,only after careful evalution would i proceed, when u hit a dose u respond to then stay for a while and if u choose see if u can titrate back down.
I say this having been bed ridden until i made the choice to do this, and since its been the only way to get past sticking points, however i am not recomending it,im stating my view on ur question, and the main thing is to make sure u feel comfortable enough with the drug to do this, you want to stay safe or it serves no purpose to raise the dose at all.
I know to people not on maois see this as dangrous, however when ur on one for somewhat years the drug "poops out" and its something u have to do,unless u have a doc willing to augment and possably go that route.
There is nothing unethical about getting a therputic dose and fair chance at a med, what is unethical is a doc even when presented with published documention denies your plea to make changes with a med.Seems they have no issues doing so with the new unknown drugs but do so with the older ones.
Also i want to thank blueberry if shes reading, some of the things of late i dont agree with, however being through what she has,and being such a loud voice here, she is one of the true assets to the board and im glad we have her along with a few others who seem to be the people we seek due to their experiance and knowledge.
I left u an email please resond when u can,as well as feel free to contact me with titrating questions as its something i have personal in depth experiance with,a strong reason im here is to use mymistakes to help others avoid them.
Anyway im rambling,wish u luck.
