Hello,
I've been taking Parnate since December (titrating up slowly from 10mg to 70ng in the last week). I didn't have a Blood Pressure cuff and never checked my BP during that time. However yesterday I was at CVS and used their BP machine at about 1pm after my noon dose (3x10mg) of Parnate. It was shockingly high ~170/100. Scared me - and I had hardly eaten at all - definitely nothing on the do not eat list.
I went back to a different pharmacy w/ one of those BP machines and tried it at 3pm and it still high. But then at 5pm it was very low ~110/50.
So anyway I bought one of those wrist BP cuffs to figure out what's going on. This morning I woke up and my BP was normal ~120/75. But now an hour after taking Parnate (3x10mg) + Fish oil my BP is 165/95 (high).
Could this be related to the fish oil? I have been taking a fish oil cap w/ each Parnate dose. The bottle (Omega 3 from Walmart) does say it has a soy filler but I've read threads here where people said it was ok. I'm hoping that's the problem and I'm going to cease that for the time being.
I'm also going to try splitting the dose of Parnate up more. (2x10mg) at most throughout the day. Luckily insomnia isn't a problem for me (thanks to Seroquel).
Anyway I'm just wondering if anyone on Parnate has had this issue. I'd really hate to come off it since it's working quite well for me but I don't think it's healthy to have rapid changes in BP like this (especially such high spikes).
I take:
Parnate (70mg)
Lamictal (200mg)
Lithium (600mg)
Seroquel (100mg)
Klonopin (.25/.5 _rarely_)
Fish Oil
MagnesiumThanks for any input,
-Jay
