In reply to Invega - Sexual Side-Effects, posted by Petrucci914 on March 20, 2010, at 21:33:46
Paliperidone (Invega) was launched after the patent expired on risperidone (Risperdal). It is very closely related to risperidone, a potent antipsychotic. I have no idea why Invega would be used to treat Vyvanse withdrawal symptoms, unless hallucinations and/or delusions were prominent.
Sexual side effects are not uncommon with risperidone, and presumably paliperidone. Erectile function can be disturbed and hormone levels altered (prolactin substantially increased, testosterone slightly decreased). Libido is often reduced. Retrograde ejaculation sometimes happens (semen goes backwards into the bladder instead of coming out, this leads to cloudy urine).

The problem is I've had some sexual side-effects.....erectile issues, producing little to no semen, and lack of sexual interest. I've also had some weird dizzy/spacey issues. Will these go away or is this to be expected? My doctor is starting to think I may have some bipolar tendencies so who knows what I try next...
