I don't think this would be TD, as Pristiq, and it's relative Effexor, have caused these same side effects for me. I believe it is the norepinephrine/activating aspect of this drug that has always caused the tic-like 'mini-shocks'.
Clonazepam seems to be a good drug to trample this side-effect. FWIW, IMHO...etc...
