I also found this one for anyone else who may be in a similar position: 1-800-273-TALK .Even though it is on the National Suicide Prevention website it says:
"Are you in crisis? Please call.Are you feeling desperate, alone or hopeless? Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), a free, 24-hour hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Your call will be routed to the nearest crisis center to you. "
So I guess you can call if you are feeling alone, hopeless or are in emotional distress, as it says. I gather from their description that you don't have to be actively suicidal as in 'just about to do it'.
I didn't call anyone in the end- I just knocked myself out with extra clonazepam.Thanks though for the suggestion.
