Propranolol and SNRI combo

Posted by vic80 on May 21, 2010, at 18:05:16

Rx: 50 mg Milnacipran twice daily (7 days now)
20 mg Propranolol LA once daily
0.5 mg Lorazepam before bed.

Proranolol was added today to deal with tyachycardia and anxiety from MIL.

How do Beta Blockers combine with SNRI?
Would Propranolol diminish NE enhancment of MIL?

And most importantly: is depression a common side effect of Propranolol and what about the effect on emotions and motivation..?

MIL has been particularly prescribed to alleviate anhedonia and apathy symptoms, i would not want anything to diminish its effect, I wudn't mind sticking with Benzos long time if propranolol would give me any sort of mental numbness.
So far Lorazepam has been a god-send - its attacked the core of anxiety, which had gotten 'perverted' into 'dissociative' calmness on escitalopram use. Gory details of which I would not even dare remember.

I have noticed the full range of emotions after tapering and finally stopping Lex...
I just hope that MIL and propranolol combo would not turn me into a zombie yet again....
