Bloodwork to measure platelet MAO inhibition?

Posted by zonked on May 24, 2010, at 11:23:01

Hi all,

Was doing some web surfing this weekend and found that in at least one of the Marplan studies, dosage was increased until "90% platelet MAO inhibition was achieved.".

Does anyone know if this is a standard test my doctor can order?

In a sort of grey-dysthymic zone now--the 40mg marplan IS doing *something*, but nowhere near remission yet.

Having significant anxiety (generalized and social) still, the Klonopin keeps a lid on it but to be honest I am convinced it's making my depression worse (K has done this to me before.)

Thinking about asking, again, for Xanax which never did this to me or perhaps a trial of Lyrica....

I'm hanging in there the best I can...
