All I know is that when I have trouble with insomnia, I take 25 mg and it knocks me out. So the thought that a dose of 800 mg might be prescribed for depression seems unrealistic. I know we are all different but that variation seems almost too extreme unless you are gradually increasing the dose and your body has acclimated to it over time.
Just checked my drug book and 50 mg is the initial dose (depression associated with bipolar disorder)with maintenance dose of 300 mg after the 4th day.
Whatever...I suppose alot of that is based on height/weight too.
