Are my meds causing hypotension?

Posted by Deneb on July 5, 2010, at 15:33:07

OK, I know that low blood pressure is supposed to be good, but it can be annoying if it is too low. I have blurry vision, light headedness and fainting.

I like that it is low because that is tons better than it being high, but I am just curious as to WHY it is so low now. Today I got my blood pressure measured several times at the pharmacy and at one point it was as low as 83/48. My blood pressure wasn't always this low.

A few years back it wasn't unusual for my blood pressure be in the 120-140 systolic range.

Why is my blood pressure so low now? What can cause this? Meds?

I've been on Celexa, Prozac and Risperdal for years now. The Prozac was increased some time ago. Can Prozac cause low blood pressure?

I feel pretty lucky to have this problem, it is way better than high blood pressure, but I am just worried as to why my blood pressure went from high normal to low.

Also, instead of getting thinner, I've gotten a lot fatter. Should I be concerned about diabetes?

Risperdal can cause diabetes right?
