Parnate and Norpramin

Posted by Charles Darwood on July 6, 2010, at 18:48:24

Hi,

I'm currently on tranylcypromine(60mg)/lithium (600mg)/alprazolam (6mg). I've mostly weaned myself off the Xanax; I only take 1mg on an as-needed basis.

In any event, my psychiatrist prescribed 50mg desipramine for me today. I've heard conflicting things about the combination of Parnate/desipramine so I need some advice from someone who's taken both concurrently.

For what its worth, I've never had any adverse hypertensive or serotonergic reactions while taking Parnate.

Thanks!
