Have our brains been permanently damaged?

Posted by Huxley on September 16, 2010, at 18:34:23

Does anyone ever wonder that?

What if after taking these meds such as an SSRI for a medium period of time is enough to permanently damage your brain and lead to you requiring additional medications to deal with the problems it has caused.

I have seen plenty of people complaining about permanent disabiliites from SSRIs.

Its quite easy to develop symptoms of another illness from sudden withdrawal of any number of drugs and it is obvious that doctors dont recognise this withdrawal and throw more meds at it to treat it.

In the longer term these medications seem to be causing more problems than they are solving.

Where is the evidence that these meds work... who here is actually successfully treated? Doesnt seem like many people to me.

Why does everyone accept the status quo?
We have seen that the pharma industry will push these drugs onto us no matter what the cost to our bodies or our health, ala witholding the diabetes information on zyprexa and withdrawal syndromes.

We see doctors who clearly have no idea what they are doing and seem to be puppets of the big pharma.

Why do we trust pseudo psychiatrists that are on forums like this that learn a few buzz words and pretend they understand the mechanics of these medicines and the human mind.

It seems to me that alot of us have our heads burried in the sand.
