Even as a child my doctor told them that I should see a psychologist, but I guess my parents didn't want to do that, so here I am today, a total mess. I don't blame my parents for anything because what would be the point? But I am sure that if action had been taken early on, that my life would be a lot different right now.

Most parents are far from perfect and yours may have played a role in your suffering. When you learn how your parents affected your development in therapy, you are not supposed to hold on to that and play the blame game, you are supposed to use this information to better understand why you are the way you are and so you can be more compassionate with yourself-letting yourself off the hook so that you are not hating yourself and blaming yourself for just being born "f*ck*d up"-because you were NOT simply born "f*ck*d up".
