> i was wondering if someone could clarify the situation of zolpidem (Ambien) or zaleplon (Starnoc/Sonata) in Canada. it seems that they are legal, with Starnoc simply being "discontinued" and no longer marketed, and i'm pretty sure i read clear mention that zolpidem (Ambien) is or was legal (but maybe never marketed, that wasn't 100% clear.) i think what i am wondering is, if they are not conventionally available, are there any well-known specialised compounding pharmacies that might be able to fill the rx through more specialised means? the most well known compounding pharmacy in ottawa (Glebe Apothecary) said that they do not themselves have access to any alternate supplier, so i am looking for others.

Goldstein) and efficacy for tardive issues, parkinsonism, catatonia and even vegetative states makes me very curious.

Hello:

Starnoc has been discontinued in Canada (not sure why) and Imovane is the only hypnotic in this class left. (afaik).

You can check out the drugs for yourself at the Health Canada drug product database:
http://webprod.hc-sc.gc.ca/dpd-bdpp/index-eng.jsp

Fyi, I found high-dose Imovane to be good at resolving dysphoric states for a long period of time. It did not feel like a traditional benzo mechanism (I know it is really not a trad. benzo..but).

Dx= BP II, leaning more towards major dysphoric mania, and intensive anxiety.

Prozac 80mg qd
Lyrica: 150mg bid
Topomax: 100mg bid
Risperidal: d/c
Abilify 5mg HS
Clonazepam: 1mg qid
