I think more than anything, Trileptal acts as an antimanic agent. However, my experience with Trileptal was that it picked up my mood and energy a bit and was weight-neutral. My response to Trileptal was unsatisfactory, so I stopped taking it. However, I would not resist trying it again.
I think a case can be made for you to remain on a mood stabilizer while you test other antidepressant drugs.
How does Provigil affect you? I hated it. Overall, it worsened my depression, especially the cognitive impairments. However, my guess is that it might go well with Parnate. My doctor will occasionally use Wellbutrin with Lamictal. Is this something you have already explored?
