Generic lamotrigine generally does work well in epilepsy. The majority of epileptics in the UK who take lamotrigine receive a generic version. Branded Lamictal is very expensive and only used in special cases. Some patients with epilepsy prefer to remain on the same generic, which is usually TEVA or Actavis.
