While inspiration the gallbladder ascends upwards and on expiration the gallbladder descends. When it descends it should cause a lot of pain because it is bumping against the fingers pressed into your right upper quadrant. The only other thing in that area is the liver. Simple blood test would rule out liver malfunction. The liver enzymes AST and ALT would be elevated in that case. Remote chance it could be pancrease. Again routine blood work would show if that was the problem as well. Lipaase and Amylase would be elevated. If it were kidney stones you would be on the floor in a fetal position by now and probably blood in your urine. It is hard to deny the unique pain of kidney stones.
The one common condition that wouldn't show up on any blood work or urinalysis is diverticulosis or diverticulitis. To diagnose that you would need a CT of the abdomen/Pelvis. Both of which are fairly common. There are pockets within the large colon that become inflamed which is diverticulitis. The pain with that condition is usually diffuse across the abdomen. Not really in a particular spot.
If the pain has lasted for months and it was something serious like abdominal aortic aneurysm, or peritonitis, you would be kaput.
There are a couple other things it could be if the pain is exacerbated when you breath, but I won't get into that because I think you would have mentioned that symptom if it where true.
I hope this helps.
