It doesn't seem to work as fast, but I guess it puts me in deep REM sleep because I have very vivid dreams--so much so that I was sure I was awake. Last night, however, I know I was sleeping fitfully. The restorative sleep happens in Delta not REM sleep. REM sleep is associative with a highly active brain with corresponding paralysis of skeletal muscles so as to not act out any of your dreams. An overload of REM sleep is never good.
I always cringe when p docs shell out antipsychotics for sleep. It is a horrible habit.
