washout as in "the erosive process of washing away soil or gravel by water (as from a roadway)"?

in that cause this med will be clear of this substance in 2-3 days completely, given it is not XR formulation. Now as far as the psychological adaptation following the discontinuation of this medication - it might be a week or close to a lifetime depending how long one has been taking it.
It is one thing to washout the substance out of the body, it is another thing to make your receptors work in the same manner as before you even started the medication due to upregulation/downregulation of the impacted receptors.
