There is a biochemistry involving mind-altering drugs. Now your question is one that could be answerd in many ways depending on a lot of factors.
Now in my experiance, I do not know one person IRL that has told me that they were taking psychotropic drugs that did not also say to me that they got more depressed after they took the drug. Others may know others that did not get depressed. But the PDR lists depression as a result of the drug in many drugs that have researched. There may be some drugs that do not list depression as an effect from the drug because I really have never made a list like that.
But then one could have a placebo effect at first and then go into depression. Or one could stay in a drug induced state until they have to stop the drug and then go into depression during withdrawal in many psychotropic drugs.
So to answer you question, I think that {common} couold be determined by you questioning others in your community that take these drugs and see if {commom} could apply as to f they get depressed after they take the drug. Your community may vary from others.
