When the population of 5-HT2a receptors in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) is inhibited from firing, it effectively releases the brakes on dopamine (DA) and norepinephrine (NE) activity there. The atypical antipsychotics are potent 5-HT2a antagonists and are generally capable of treating the negative symptoms (deficit syndrome) of schizophrenia. Several antidepressants also antagonize the 5-HT2a receptor. Nortriptyline is one that comes to mind.

Prozac antagonizes 5-HT2c receptors. Interestingly, Prozac is the only AD that I am aware of that increases the release of DA and NE acutely in the PFC.
