It seems every one I know is on an anti-depressant and most are not depressed, just kind of down and negative because of changes in their life. Doctors just throw anti-depressants at them. I have a sponsee in AA who is just plain unhappy, not depressed. She is negative and bored and full of self-pity. She needs therapy and she needs to make changes in her life, but she sees a p-doc who has her on all these meds, which don't help.
I had severe, life-threatening depression and tried drug after drug. The one's that worked worked quickly and effectively. The one's that didn't had no effect at all. I don't think any of my responses were placebo responses.
