Ok, so as per my previous post, we were going to try riluzole for bipolar depression and especially OCD-ish/addictive symptoms. Turns out riluzole has a tiny tiny chance of some horrible leathal lung disease and even though I tried riluzole in the past we think its not worth it at this point. Instead dr. suggested we try acamprosate (campral).
Oddly enough i'm in AA and call myself an "alcholic" in meetings becuase of general addictive tendencies and a nasty stimulant addiction I kicked this year. But i've never had a problem with alcohol.
In any event, trying the NMDA partial agonist acamprosate 2000mg/day for obsessive-compulsive-addictive type symptoms. If it helps sleep and depression that's a bonus.
Anyone with any experience to share? What did you use it for? How did it work? What was your subjective experience like?
