In reply to Viibryd as good as zoloft for ocd?, posted by mogger on November 19, 2011, at 17:00:11
I'm looking into Viibryd too. The goal is to reduce the sexual dysfunction side-effects I've been experiencing over the years when taking SNRIs (Lexapro, Cymbalta, Pristiq, etc)
Unfortunately the FDA is now questioning the claims that Viibryd reduces sexual dysfunction side effects. My pdoc has suggested a "wait and see" approach for the next few months, as more and more users start reporting long-term effects.
My pdoc also suggested that I keep an eye on the websites below. From what I've seen, Daniel Carlat is a consumer advocate of sorts who provides useful info on pharmaceuticals. His take on Viibryd, and the issue of sexual dysfunction side effects in general, is worth a read.
The article about Viibryd and a few more of the newer meds is on the report website, entitled "Four 'New' Antidepressants".

mechanism is very similar to what BusPar does.Meanwhile, I'm still waiting with my pdoc for more long-term info on Viibryd.
Hope this info helps,
