Beta blockers aren't really designed to treat anxiety.

There are some good alternatives to benzos:

Lyrica
Gabapentin
Gabitril
Prazosin

All of those medications have been studied for their efficacy in treating anxiety. Most also help with mood, too.

I've been on all of them. Lyrica and Prazosin were my fav.
