If you can come off meds that's fantastic! I wish I could. No side effects and more money, LOL. Though I do urge you to get medical advice from your doctor about how to come off them safely. Your doctor should give you a schedule with decreasing strengths over time. Don't be too inpatient to slow down the process if you need to.
If you quit cold turkey or too quickly you will increase your chances of relapsing and will more likely than not suffer horrible physical side effects. So take it slow. It's not a competition. ;-)
If you get sick again and need to restart taking an anti-depressant, ask your doctor about medication that is less likely to have sexual side effects. They do exist.
I don't agree that medication stunts personal growth, BTW. You can have both. Both myself and other people I know have had much personal growth combining medication with therapy. Hell, some of us can't even do therapy without medication - we'd be too sick! I think everyone can beneft from CBT and DBT in particular, mental illness or not.
