Gosh. There are so many.
Nardil probably gets more people better than any other available antidepressant. It is also great for several anxiety disorders, including OCD.
Nortriptyline is the most well-tolerated TCA with a good track record for efficacy.
Effexor will get more people well than a SSRI. It is probably less apt to produce apathy, amotivation, or sexual side effects than SSRIs.
Xanax can penetrate some of the worst of anxiety and produce a mild mood lift. However, behavioral disinhibition is a concern.
Lithium can act as an antidepressant adjunct at low dosages and a mood stabilizer at higher dosages. It probably helps brain tissue to recover and remain protected.
Abilify can act as an antidepressant adjunct at low dosages and an antipsychotic at higher dosages. For some people, however, Abilify can actually interfere with the antipsychotic effects of other APs like Seroquel when they are coadministered.
