TCA suggestions

I have tried Ami which had too many cognitive effects and then Nort which made me on edge, angry, irritable.
I suffer from Atypical depression but don't want to go down the MAOI route (yet) besides, getting a doc to prescribe MAOI in the UK is a challenge.
SSRIs had the normal dulling, lethargic , fattening, sexual effects (apart from prozac but that was short lived) and Effexor was Ok but i dont ever want to go through the withdrawal of that again.
I heard a lot of good thinks about Imipramine ?
Suggestions ? there seems to be a lot of choice of TCAs
