I think the risks have to be weighed against the benefits. For what it is worth back in 70
's they didn't know of risks, SSRI's were not out yet and with my third child was on valium, placidyl, and two glasses of wine prescribed by my both pdoc and ob-gyn. And get this went into false labor and ob-gyn gave me two seconals at the hospital that night so I could sleep but didn't. Baby had no breathing difficulties. Now knowing what I know today the constant crying and stomach problems, vomiting she had for 18months must have been some form of withdrawal. But no birth defects. I think if depression would cause harm to you if you stopped all meds this is or could be a problem. Just thought maybe babble B2chica I think she worked out meds when pregnant I remember reading it on here. Hope this helps. Phillipa
