I have experienced this same phenomenon for many years. For me, this does not represent an ultradian cycle. It occurs only in association with eating. I think it might be due to an imbalance in autonomic function. Do you experience heart palpitations during these times? Do you feel flush? I think the sympathetic system abnormally tries to compensate for the normal activation of the parasympathetic system after eating and during the recovery phase after exercise.
