In reply to anyone on Nardil?, posted by zed25 on April 18, 2012, at 6:05:25
Hi there, I haven't taken Nardil but have taken Parnate, since no one else has responded and they are similar I can give you some of my experiences.
I didn't respond to SSRIs and had partial response to Wellbutrin before. I felt the same euphoria initially when I started taking Parnate. I gradually increased to 60 mg and took that for a few years.
It helped pretty dramatically, although my emotions were kind of dulled overall. I didn't really experience too many side effects. I added Lamictal which is used as a mood stabilizer, and later augmented with T3, magnesium citrate, and B vitamins. I felt so much better after starting the magnesium and B vitamins I actually was able to stop taking the Parnate.
I had a blood pressure spike once, I think it was after eating meat that had been seasoned with boullion cubes or something. I went to the hospital but my BP went down on its own.
Can add more details if you have any questions.
