The best I can tell you is that he opened the spinal canal and did a lot of bone remodeling. He corrected everything that was wrong. The charge was just what Medicare paid - nothing additional. He is so skilled; we did not find anyone in our home city able to do what he did. You might want to look him up under the Hopkins Spine Center. My husband has not had any pain in the three years since his operation, and his spine is quite flexible. His only limitation is that he is not supposed to lift more than 25 pounds (although sometimes he forgets and lifts quite heavy things). I don't think there are many neurosurgeons as gifted as this one.
