Lithium.
In fact, a too high dose of Lithium will really put an end to any sort of cognitive processing. A brain dead zombie you will be.
In all seriousness though, Lithium, at the right dose for your particular illness (less for depression, more for bipolar) and level of tolerability, might just be the ticket. Especially if suicidal thoughts are part of the problem.
Lithium requires careful monitoring of blood serum levels and thyroid and kidney function, particularly at the start. You also need to be careful with your fluid intake (not too much or too little), avoiding dehydration and sun exposure. Over time this becomes second nature.
Perhaps ask your doctor about its suitability.
