Over the years it is easy for us all in the world to accept that the monoamine theory of depression, still just a theory, has somehow become factual. So when something non-monoamine shows up that helps people feel better, we are perplexed and confused how that could be.
I dunno. I made more progress in depression with doxycycline than I did a backpack full of psychiatric prescriptions. So go figure.
