I wasnt trying to kick you when you were down RJ - I was trying to say that I think the reason the drugs arnt making you happy is that your issues arnt ones that will respond to psychotrophic drugs alone, that until you're able to fix certain things in your life, no pill is going to
make you feel totaly happy.I think as well as a psychiatriast, you would get great benifit from seeing a psychologist and a social worker regularly, to enable you to make some life changes, and adjust to your situation.
Medication will always probably have a role to play, but its perhaps expectiong too much to expect drugs to fix everything.
That was the attitude from the 50's to the 70's, when women with unhappy marriges, who couldnt cope with their kids, or who were stuck at home doing housework all day devoid of interaction with adults were given Dexamyl, Miltown and Librium - it didnt work then, and it wont work now with todays drugs.
Next time you see your psychiatrist, ask him or her about regualrly seeing a psychologist and a social worker regularly.
I think one of the biggest steps you could take is getting a job, it doesnt have to be a great job, it could just be working in a Walmart or somthing, but it would give you some independence, some money of your own, a reason to get up every day, interaction with some new, different people, a boost in self esteam and a heap of other stuff.
Sorry if what I said sounded mean, it wasnt meant to be a kick when you were already down
Jon
