stability is odd

i had some old selegiline that even seemed to grow brown mould splotches. i also had some on old lorazepam that did this. which i braved. it either didn't work, or i'm extremely dreadfully tolerant now (which i am). pharmacies seem to think water damage means something.

but really stability for individual compounds usually are not the same. pharmaceutical N-acetyl cysteine is kept for very short periods before deemed inviable, and they use it to neutralise paracetamol/acetominophen overdoses iirc, and we sell it otc, in capsules, almost as if it never goes bad. reading about this really made me sceptical of supplements and the degree to which they are regulated, inspected, held to any standard.
