Meds for developmental dyspraxia?

Posted by enndub on October 16, 2012, at 11:51:59

Ok, so my Nardil has been working reasonably well for the past few days (knock on wood) since I started taking my whole 75 mg dose at nighttime.

Assuming my dysthimia and anxiety stay reasonably well controlled, I'm looking to move on to treating my dyspraxia.

Of the meds I've taken so far, Stimulants have by far given me the most relief from dyspraxia, with Nardil itself coming in second place. Unmedicated I have trouble controlling muscle groups individually and have extremely poor body awareness.

Does anyone have any recommendations for meds that can be taken long term and with Nardil that might help with this condition.

I had a couple of ideas:

1. Stimulants would be a good option because they could treat my ADD concurrently. Downside is that it doesn't work all day and would probably be hard to get my doctor to prescribe.

2. Mirapex is used for dystonias so I assume they would help with Dyspraxia as well? I am not sure if Mirapex is safe to take with Nardil or safe to take long term? I am also prone to restless legs and akathisia, so it would help with this as well.

Anyone have any other med recommendations or general advice?

Thanks,
Nick
