Deplin is basically a super vitamin, a "medical food." It's supposed to help replace folic acid in people who are deficient in it (it's believed a folate deficiency causes depression). I tried it too and it did nothing.
Sounds like you might benefit from a new pdoc. From your description, she sounds very rigid and myopic. I think you mentioned she's an addiction specialist, too, correct? Perhaps you can find a new pdoc (an addiction specialist if still necessary) who is open to exploring more options with you. A lot of those "old" meds are still pretty good.
