how to tune out

Posted by rjlockhart37 on November 14, 2012, at 21:12:24

i've been doing this a couple years now...when things are really bad, or depression just totally fills....you can tune it out, its still not being happy, but it will relieve feeling sh*tty all the time.

thinking in terms of white and black, and inbetween them is gray....metaphorically this is between happy and depressed. Tune out your emotions that are obsessive, or unplesant...try to go into a period where you don't feel emotion...like my example of state hospital doctors, "pale faces and souless eyes" meaning they look kinda look boring, and not much life to them. But find a feeling where you have quiet away from thoughts...the stillness, no strife, no worry...just stay in that still...while you function in everyday things. Kinda autopilot stuff, but your still awake and aware of whats going on. It's not a happy feeling but also not a dread feeling of depression... dull the emotions out, feel like everything is absolutely still and stay in the feeling or place...but I have to admit this is not a guaranteed technique, i've just done a couple times years ago when I was losing stablity...it just randomly happened like a coping mechanism....wierd...

Also...here's a better visual example I found:

have at it...:)
