FDA approves Deep TMS for depression

The TMS currently available in the US only penetrates about 1.5 cm into the brain. This new Deep TMS from Brainsway penetrates much deeper -- 6 or 7 cm, so it can target the brain's reward system directly, instead of indirectly with the old TMS system. Deep TMS has been available in Europe for three years.
