The dose used for depression is quite a bit lower than the dose used for anesthesia, so there's no need for an anesthesiologist. It would be nice if people could go to a GP for a shot of ketamine. Dr. Edward Fruitman is a psychiatrist in New York who gives ketamine injections for depression.
