What I've noticed about borage oil is that it makes me very irritable. This might be because it's very rich (maybe too rich) in Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). Barry Sears, author of The Zone diet books, believes that we should get a mixture of omega 3s and GLA, but only a few milligrams of GLA a week (a borage oil capsule contains 240 mg of GLA). What I do is take fish oil for omega 3s, and I pierce an evening primrose capsule (also rich in GLA) with a pin. I keep this capsule in a sandwich bag in the refrigerator, and squeeze out a few drops a week.
