I'm on Dexedrine 10mg 3x/day, but to get the job done for my science courses or to crank out a paper, I sometimes could use a higher dose-- I once had a doc prescribe me 20mg 3x/day, still within the daily dose guidelines, and that worked really well.
Only thing is, I can't sleep if I take doses higher than what seems to be 30mg-- I currently take 10mg at 7 AM and 20mg at 11AM and none afterwards. Even when I take maybe 30mg at 11AM, it keeps me up all night, even though I use trazodone and melatonin.
I'm sure Seroquel would do the trick, but I'm already on monthly injections of Invega Sustenna 156mg. I can't recall if Ambien fights off stimulant-induced insomnia. If I have to get a reading or paper done that requires extra focus, I take 4mg of Klonopin at bedtime with 50mg of trazodone.
Please don't judge, I'm mostly experimenting so I can work with my doc to adjust my meds and take them as prescribed.
I'm switching soon to a clinic at a hospital with docs that have one who published a journal article on the need for sone adults to take higher doses of stimulants. The question is, how do I get to sleep with the doses that have efficacy for me? Anyone gave any experiences? Thanks!
