Since the psychiatrist I had been seeing told me that my case is above her expertise, I'm going to be seeing a new pdoc here soon. Now, my case was somewhat above her expertise from the beginning and she always asked me what my ideas were before she would make her suggestion for a med that I could try. But I was thankful to have a pdoc that didn't tell me I was delusional when I told her about medication having seemingly permanent effects on me. And she did seem very knowledgable. She diagnosed me with depesonalization and nearly an absence of affect.
But I'll be seeing the new psychiatrist here soon that she recommended. Of course I'm hoping for a very knowledgeable one. But so far it seems no doctors are well versed in what to do in a case like mine, where medication has longterm effects on me, whether bad or good, 99% of the time. I'm pretty much out of ideas for meds to try and have been looking into herbal things, but I'm just hoping to find an answer from a good psychiatrist. Or at least to be pointed in the right direction. Maybe Deep Brain Stimulation. I just don't know.
