Maybe you could try Nuvigil or Provigil instead of traditional stimulants. Thery are expensive though and a few months ago there was a coupon on Nuvigil.com for the 1st month free. You
Could see if its still there.

And I do thinj it is possible for past meds to have a longterm effect on brain chemistry and also effect how you respond to future medicine. Look up Tardive Dysphoria.
